Questions, Answered
Everything you need to begin a piece, care for it, and keep it.
Orders & Making
What does Commissioned mean?
Every CŒURA piece is made for you after you order.
Rather than making quantities in advance, we begin your piece when you commission it - allowing us to personalize thoughtfully, reduce unnecessary inventory, and give the making the time it deserves.
Allow about four weeks, occasionally five. Some designs are quicker, and we'll confirm the timing with your order.
Is anything available to ship immediately?
No.
Every CŒURA piece is made after you order. We don't hold finished inventory - it's what allows us to personalize each piece and to make only what's genuinely wanted.
If you have a date in mind, write to us before ordering. We'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Where is CŒURA jewelry made?
Our jewelry is created with skilled artisan partners in Bali, Indonesia.
Each piece moves through many hands - from casting and soldering to engraving, finishing, polishing and final inspection.
Is every piece exactly alike?
No two handmade pieces are completely identical.
Very slight variations in finish, texture, engraving or form are part of working with human hands and precious materials. They should never affect the integrity, comfort or intended design of your piece.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Work on your commissioned piece begins when you order it.
You may cancel within 48 hours, in full, for any reason, at no charge.
After that, your piece is being made specifically for you and cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged.
What if I made a mistake in my order?
Please review your personalization carefully before ordering.
Check names, initials, dates, spelling, capitalization, metal selections and ring size before completing your purchase.
For Carigram and other personalization where the exact characters are especially important, you'll be asked to confirm what will be engraved before your order is finalized.
Will my piece arrive gift-ready?
Yes.
Every CŒURA piece arrives in our signature packaging, designed to be kept as carefully as the object inside it.
What moon is my piece made under?
The one named in your confirmation.
Every piece is made under a moon and carries its name. Ordering never closes. Allow about four weeks for the making, whichever moon your piece is made under.
What is the star on the back of my piece?
A founder's mark. It was struck only on pieces made before 26 September 2026, and never after.
Personalization & Engraving
How does personalization work?
The small line above a piece's name tells you what it begins with - a date, your words, two letters - or that a Carigram is there if you like.
Depending on the piece, you may choose initials, words, names, dates, places, metal combinations, engraving or other personal details.
The choices available for each design are shown directly on its product page.
Can I see my personalization before ordering?
For pieces with our online visualizer, you will be able to preview your selections before placing your order.
The preview is intended to show composition, scale and placement. Because your finished piece is made and finished by hand, subtle differences from the digital rendering are natural.
Will I receive a separate proof?
Standard personalization shown in the visualizer does not require a separate proof.
For Carigram engraving and other personalization where the exact characters are especially important, you will be asked to confirm what will be engraved before your order is finalized.
If our atelier needs clarification about anything you submit, we'll contact you before proceeding.
How many characters can I engrave?
It depends on the piece.
Each CŒURA design has its own engraving field and typographic limits. The configurator will show and enforce the available space for the piece you are creating.
We would rather make an inscription beautifully than make it smaller simply to fit more words.
Can I engrave the back of a piece?
On many designs, yes.
When back engraving is available, you will see the option on the product page. Available styles and character limits vary according to the size and shape of the piece.
Can I use a date, coordinates or a place?
Yes, wherever the selected engraving style permits it.
Dates, coordinates, places, initials and short inscriptions are some of the ways a CŒURA piece can mark a moment.
Can you engrave handwriting, drawings or other artwork?
Selected pieces allow artwork-based engraving.
When available, the option and upload requirements will appear on the product page. We review artwork before production and will contact you if an adjustment is needed for a successful engraving.
Why might my engraving look slightly different from the preview?
The preview is digital. Your engraving is physical.
Scale, the shape of the object, the character of the letterform and the hand-finishing of the metal can all create subtle differences.
We preserve legibility and the integrity of the design rather than mechanically forcing a digital image onto the piece.
Shipping & Delivery
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping within the United States is complimentary on orders of $150 or more.
For orders under $150, standard shipping is $8.
Expedited options, when available, are shown at checkout.
When will my order arrive?
Every CŒURA piece is made after you order.
Allow about four weeks, occasionally five.
Pieces in a single metal are quicker to make, sterling silver quickest of all, and designs without personalization, like The North Star, are quicker still. Two-tone pieces take longest, because each metal is masked and finished by hand.
We'll confirm the timing with your order and write to you the day it ships. If you have a date in mind, write to us before you order and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.
Will I receive tracking?
Yes.
You will receive tracking information by email as soon as your piece is on its way.
What if my tracking says delivered but nothing arrived?
Write to us within 48 hours at hello@shopcoeura.com and we'll open a trace with the carrier the same day.
Every CŒURA shipment is insured.
A piece lost in transit is our problem to solve, not yours.
How long does delivery take once my piece ships?
Standard U.S. delivery generally takes approximately 2-5 business days after shipment.
Carrier delays, weather and holiday volume can occasionally affect delivery.
Will my package require a signature?
A signature may be required for higher-value orders.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide.
Duties, taxes and other charges imposed by the destination country are the recipient's responsibility.
If you're commissioning a piece from outside the United States, you're welcome to write to us before ordering.
Can I rush a commissioned piece?
If you have an important date in mind, contact us before ordering.
We can't promise that every piece can be expedited, but we'll always tell you honestly what is possible.
Returns & The Keep Promise
What is the Keep Promise?
We make pieces to keep. Our care for them continues long after they leave our hands.
If something isn't right, tell us. We believe customers should feel cared for, not negotiated with.
Do you accept returns?
Every CŒURA piece is made for you after you order it, so we can't accept returns or exchanges, including on gifts.
You have 48 hours after placing your order to cancel for a full refund, for any reason.
If we've made a mistake or your piece has a fault, we'll make it right. The Keep Promise says exactly what we'll do.
What if my piece arrives damaged or incorrect?
Please contact us right away with your order number and photographs of the piece.
If we made a mistake or your piece arrived with a manufacturing issue, we will repair, replace or remake it as appropriate at no cost to you.
What if my ring does not fit?
For commissioned rings, we'll email you to confirm your size before the piece goes to the bench.
If it still arrives in the wrong size, write to us and we'll work out the right thing to do.
Some forms cannot be resized without being remade; where that applies, we'll tell you before ordering.
How do I contact you about a return, repair or issue?
Write to hello@shopcoeura.com with your order number.
A person answers.
We don't use a form.
Sizing & Fit
How do I find my ring size?
Use our printable CŒURA Ring Sizer and follow the printing instructions carefully.
Always print at 100% / actual size and verify the scale marker before measuring.
See our Ring Sizing Guide.
What if I am between ring sizes?
Fit depends on the width and profile of the ring.
If you are between sizes, check the specific fit guidance on the product page before ordering.
Do wider rings fit differently?
Yes.
A wider band generally feels more snug than a narrow band.
For The Band - Wide, we recommend ordering approximately one-half size larger than your usual narrow-ring size.
What ring sizes do you offer?
Available sizes are shown on each product page.
Some designs are offered in half sizes. Because our rings are commissioned, only the sizes available for that specific design will appear as selections.
What if I'm worried I've chosen the wrong ring size?
We'll email you to confirm the size of a commissioned ring before it goes to the bench.
Simply reply if it isn't right.
How do I choose a chain or cord length?
Each necklace product page shows the available carrier lengths and, where possible, an on-body reference.
Think about whether you want your piece to sit close to the collarbone, at the upper chest, lower for layering, or long on the body as a ritual object.
See our Chain & Cord Length Guide.
Materials & Care
What materials does CŒURA use?
Our principal jewelry metals are Sterling Silver - 925 and 18K Gold Vermeil over Sterling Silver.
Individual product pages identify the materials used for each piece.
What is 18K Gold Vermeil?
CŒURA Gold Vermeil is a substantial layer of real 18K gold over sterling silver.
We use 2.5 microns of 18K gold on most pieces and 3 microns on rings.
That means precious metal over precious metal - not gold over a base-metal core.
Will gold vermeil change over time?
Yes.
Gold vermeil is made to be worn, and all vermeil will gradually respond to wear.
How quickly depends on the wearer, frequency of use and contact with water, chemicals, lotions, friction and the environment.
Over time, the gold layer may thin where the piece receives the most contact. That is normal wear, not a defect.
If a CŒURA vermeil piece eventually needs renewed finishing, we'll replate it. We'll quote the work before we begin.
Will sterling silver tarnish?
It can.
Tarnish is a natural reaction between sterling silver and its environment and does not mean the silver is damaged.
With time, silver can also develop a patina unique to the wearer.
Can I shower or swim in my jewelry?
We recommend removing your jewelry before bathing, swimming or entering pools, hot tubs and the ocean - particularly gold vermeil pieces.
Chlorine, salt, soaps and repeated moisture can accelerate wear.
Should I take my jewelry off to exercise or sleep?
We recommend it.
Sweat, pressure, friction and catching can all put unnecessary stress on fine jewelry.
Should perfume and lotion go on before or after jewelry?
Before.
Apply fragrance, lotion, sunscreen and cosmetics first and allow them to dry before putting on your jewelry.
How should I clean my CŒURA jewelry?
For regular care, wipe your piece gently with a clean, soft cloth after wearing it.
Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
Sterling silver may occasionally be polished with a suitable silver cloth. Gold vermeil should be treated more gently and should not be aggressively polished.
See Made to Be Kept: our complete Care Guide.
How should I store my jewelry?
Store pieces clean and dry, preferably separately, to reduce scratching and tangling.
Your CŒURA pouch and box are designed to help protect your piece when it isn't being worn.
Repairs & Craftsmanship
Is my CŒURA piece guaranteed?
Every CŒURA piece is guaranteed against a fault in its making for as long as you have it.
If a clasp fails, a setting lets go, a join opens or another problem results from the craftsmanship of the piece, contact us.
We'll repair or remake it at no cost.
Can CŒURA jewelry be repaired?
In many cases, yes.
Anything we made, we'll look at.
Damage caused by wear or accident can usually be repaired. We'll quote the work and confirm the cost with you before anything begins.
Please contact us before taking a CŒURA piece to another jeweler so that we have the opportunity to care for what we made.
Can my gold vermeil piece be replated?
Yes.
Contact us with your order information and photographs of the piece. We'll quote the work and tell you the next step.
Gifts & Other Questions
Can I send a CŒURA piece as a gift?
Of course.
Every piece arrives in our signature packaging and is designed to feel complete when it is opened.
Will pricing appear in the package?
We do not include a printed price inside the jewelry packaging.
What if a commissioned piece I received as a gift isn't right?
Write to us.
A commissioned piece is made for the person it's given to, so it can't be returned or exchanged - but if something isn't right, we want to know. The Keep Promise says what we'll do.
Can I order now for a future date?
Yes - and we encourage you to leave time.
Look at the timing shown on the product page and, if the date matters, contact us before ordering.
Can I speak to a real person?
Yes.
CŒURA is an independent company, and there are real people on the other side of your question.
If you need help choosing a piece, creating an inscription, determining a size, planning for an important date or caring for something you already own, write to us.
